This picture was taken by my front porch back in late May. Oh, my how different things look now. It is sad this drought so many of us are going through. I was just looking through pictures tonight on my camera and was struck by the beauty we had this spring. In the background you can see the large wind turbines that are a part of one of the nations largest wind farm. I should take some pictures of the current "blonde" grass (as my husband calls it). I guess that sounds much better than dead.
I will sing a song of thanksgiving.... today we did get some rain! Not sure how much, but there was wet stuff coming down to the parched land!! Praise God!!
What is it like in your neck of the woods? Is the grass green or "blonde"?? We have lost so much.... hoping that things are still alive in root systems and will come back. This kind of year really teaches me to not take for granted rain!
Have a BLESSED day,
BE a BLESSING!
Heather
Oh, my friend, if ONLY I could send you some of ours!! We've had SO MUCH over the last 6 weeks, it's not even funny. We are having the opposite problem ~ stuff dying because it's just too wet. About half of my garden seeds just drowned and rotted out and many things that DID actually sprout are stunted now because of all the rain. No happy medium, I guess, eh? :(
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog today. We recently go rain and were ever so grateful. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteWe are in Ohio and have been blessed with some rain the last two days. It has been great to hear it falling :) The grass has grown some and the garden is happy for now. Too bad it wasn't soon enough to save the cucumbers and zucchini but I won't complain. Thankfully everything else looks good and God always provides for our needs :)
ReplyDeleteI am in Central Indiana and like you everything is blonde. (BTW I love that!) We have had a little bit of rain the past three days. Not much, but I am grateful for every drop!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
It is green in VA but we have had periods of dry which messed up some plants but we have a garden and hay is growing now.
